Italian Chicken

Tender, shredded chicken in a rich and creamy Italian-seasoned sauce. This easy crockpot recipe transforms simple ingredients into a comforting meal perfect over noodles or rice.

Instructions

  1. 1

Place the chicken breast in the crockpot and sprinkle the Italian salad dressing packet evenly over it.

  2. 2

Do NOT add anything else at this stage!

  3. 3

Cook in the crockpot on low for 3 hours if using thawed chicken, or 5 hours if using frozen chicken.

  4. 4

When the chicken is fully cooked, remove it from the crockpot and place on a plate to cool slightly before shredding.

  5. 5

Once cooled enough to handle, shred the chicken using two forks, then return it to the crockpot.

  6. 6

Add the cream of chicken soup, chicken broth, and softened cream cheese to the shredded chicken.

  7. 7

Using a spoon, stir and break up the cream cheese so it will blend better as it warms.

  8. 8

Increase the crockpot heat to high and continue cooking for an additional 45 minutes, or until the cream cheese is fully blended and the sauce is smooth.

  9. 9

Serve over egg noodles or white rice for a complete, satisfying meal.
